Vijay’s latest song costs Rs 1.25 crore
Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay places great importance on the introductory song in all his movies, but the opening song in Velayudham, produced by Aascar Ravichandran, assumes more significance as it is the first movie release of the actor after his entry into politics.The buzz is that music director Vijay Antony was given special instructions from director Jayam Raja for the song. Accordingly, the high-action festival kutthu number, which starts with the words Sonna Puriyadhu … Sollukkul Adangadhu … Neenga En Melai Vecchirukkira Paasam was canned with more than 6,000 folk and junior artistes and dancers at Thirumurty Dam near Udumalpet.
While the film cost a whopping Rs 45 crore, the grapevine has it that the song alone cost more than a crore.
Talking to DC, Ascar Ravi said, “The film has shaped up extremely well. Just as Baasha was a milestone in Rajini’s film career, Velayudham will do similar magic for Vijay.”
Asked about the title song, he says, “Yes, we wanted to make it as big as possible and brought about 5,000 junior artistes and more than 1,000 dancers and the best of folk artistes from across the state. The entire village was given a Thiruvizha look by art director Milan. It was shot for about 10 days by dance master Ashok Raja. Each day was like a festival to me because cooking for about 8,000 people for 10 days was not easy. We had booked almost all the nearby hotels in the town and a few marriage halls for their accommodation.”
The prolific producer also revealed that it cost him nothing less than `1.25 crore for the song alone. “But it is worth it!” he exclaims.

Costliest intro song for Vijay
Vijay fans always waited with great expectations for the intro song in all his films. The mass hero never failed to disappoint them. In his forthcoming film Velayudham, Vijay will shake his legs for a peppy and a racy opening song with more than 300 dances at a huge set erected at Thirumalaigiri village.The movie, directed by Jeyam Raja and produced by Aascar Ravichandran, features Hansika Motwani and Genelia alongside Vijay. Says the director, ' indeed yes. It is the costliest opening song ever to have been shot in Tamil cinema'.Vijay will dance to peppy tune composed by Vijay Anthony along with hundreds of dancers. Suddenly, everything is shining bright for Vijay, after having had a rough patch in the last few years. After delivering a super-hit in Kaavalan, he has moved onto ace director Shankar’s project Nanban, the remake of Bollywood blockbuster Three Idiots. Then, the actor will join Mani Ratnam’s project, a periodic film.
On the political front, too, Vijay is making canny moves. Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, a people's movement (as he prefers to call it), launched by the actor, has decided to back the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-led front in the coming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Film director and father of Vijay SA Chandrasekar called on Jayalalithaa and conveyed the decision last week. Over to Vijay.
How do you look at the success of Kaavalan?
It must have been a huge relief.
Even before Bodyguard (the original) in Malayalam, Siddique wanted to start the project in Tamil with me in the lead, but we could not get going due to many factors, including my commitments to other projects. But it was taken up at an appropriate time which eventually proved a turning point in my career graph. The film projected me in a very different shade, and the audience lapped it up. Besides, the film has been appreciated critically.

Vijay to campaign for Jaya
Without keeping quiet after offering his Makkal Iyakkam’s support to the AIADMK-led alliance, ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ Vijay is planning to hit the campaign trail to seek votes for the main opposition party.The actor, if sources are to be believed, will address a mega public meeting in Chennai along with Jayalalithaa. “Or he would appear on Jaya TV, urging voters and his fans to vote for the AIADMK,” sources say.Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in Chennai Tuesday evening, Vijay’s father and Makkal Iyakkam founder S A Chandrasekar said that a change in the government could alone ensure freedom in Tamil Nadu.“Makkal Iyakkam favours a political change in the State for its overall development and for the wellbeing of all sections of the society. A press release from the AIADMK headquarters from Chennai states that director SA Chandrasekar had met the AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha to pledge his support to the party during the forthcoming elections. He also informed her that the members of the Ilayathalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam will extend their full support in all the constituencies to ensure the party’s win.The press note stated that Jayalalitha extends her thanks to actor Vijay and SA Chandrasekar for the support.Vijay is currently busy shooting for Nanban and hence it is not clear if he would campaign for the AIADMK in person.Monday, March 28, 2011

அவர் மேலும், ‘’வள்ளல் என்று ஒருபடத்தில் நான் நடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது பண கஷ்டம் வந்தது. என் நண்பர் விஜயகாந்த் இதைத்தெரிந்துகொண்டு எனக்கு பண உதவி செய்தார். அவர் பண உதவியே செய்வார். மற்ற உதவியா செய்யமாட்டார்.
அதே போல் விஜய் ரசிகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். விஜய்க்கு அஜீத் நண்பனாக இருப்பதால் அஜீத் ரசிகர்களும் வருவார்கள்.
